The gesture of I – Heroes in distributing school bags and other writing materials across schools in Ikorodu Division has received commendations from the Executive Chairman, Ikorodu North Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Ameen Olawale Apanisile for educational and other interventions.
Apanisile gave the commendations when he joined the group which has been visiting selected schools in Ikorodu Division to distribute a minimum of 100 school bags, exercise books (four per students), pencil and biro in each school visited, to extend the gesture to pupils of Osho Sholu Primary School, Erunwen, Ikorodu North LCDA on Wednesday.
Members of the I -Heroes have visited schools in Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA, Imota LCDA, Ikorodu West LCDA, Ikorodu LG to distribute to pupils since the commencement of this academic session.

The council chairman spoke with THE IMPACT after he joined the group in distributing the educational materials to beneficiaries in his council.
“I just want to appreciate them for the good work they have been doing even before now. I pray they continue with this service to humanity. I am also a Lion, and what Lions do is to give service to humanity. So I give them kudos, and I pray that God will answer their prayers as they continue their good work.”
Revealing his plans for the school, Apanisile who during the week marked his administration’s 100 days in office, said that he had discussed with the head teacher of the school on his plans to make the school conducive for learning.

“I have discussed this with the Headmistress. As you can see, the school is still the same way I met it. I told her that we need to put some things in order so I can know what to do — especially in terms of writing materials and the fencing of the school. We are going to improve on that. This is the only public primary school we have here, and we want to make it better. God will help us,” he said.
Mr. Godwin Oke, I -Heroes Secretary speaking earlier said that visitation to the school is part of their mission to support children in underserved communities across Ikorodu Division, adding that the organisation is working toward distributing 1,000 school bags and writing materials.
He expressed concern of the group after observing that many children in underserved areas still rely on nylon bags due to lack of proper school materials.

The I -Heroes Secretary also emphasised that the donation is aimed at restoring dignity, boosting confidence, and encouraging learning among the pupils.
Mrs Oluwatoyin Atinuke Agbodo, head teacher Osho Sholu Primary School and some of the pupils that spoke with THE IMPACT commended the I – Heroes for the gesture which they stated would go a long way in improving pupils’ learning and attendance.
